amateur bricklaying

Is anyone contemplating making an arch of brickwork? Mine is part of the base which will have a wood fired pizza oven on it eventually.

Joining the bricks with fencing wire, was to ensure the arch couldn’t lose a brick easily. I poured fairly liquid mortar over it and poked it in between the bricks with a stick. It is still standing without the support, and I look at it proudly every time I go down to the chook yard.

the holes in the bricks were drilled through a small tin template, so they were all more or less in the same spot on the bricks
